Rotherham United has parted ways with goalkeeper coach Andy Warrington as part of a restructuring of the first team staff. The club announced Warrington's departure, stating that it was with the utmost respect of everyone here and with their thanks and very best wishes for the future. Warrington, a former Millers player, had been with the club since March 2023. He initially helped Matt Hamshaw in the day-to-day running of the operation as well as coaching the keepers. The appointment of a head coach to work under new Head of Football Steve McClaren has still to be made. Warrington was a popular figure at the club, having made over 200 appearances in goal during his playing career. He was also a League Two promotion winner under Steve Evans during the Millers' first season at the AESSEAL New York Stadium. Warrington went into goalkeeping coaching with Grimsby Town after his playing career ended and schooled young stoppers at Lincoln City. He hooked up with Paul Warne at Rotherham in 2019 as part of his backroom team and again when Warne moved to Derby County.
